I Heart HOOBASTANK!!!!!

Cool, so that was way easier than it used to be. Anyway, here is a pic from the concert! Ahhh, it was soo good. All pictures courtesy of Mitchell Cline. He is in Ames currently and Tom and himself came down for the concert the day before they started school up at ISU. All I really have for this post is the pics so ENJOY. I personally enjoy the incredibly hot Guitarist! The little Asian looking guy is the lead singer. Mitch informed me that night that the lead and the drummer write all the songs. That's pretty cool....I'll leave you to your staring now...!

My crazy week at work!

This is me being crazy at work the other day. My boss was trying to land the plastic lid on my head and so I took a box cutter and made myself a hole for my hair, then I wore it for awhile. The other woman is the manager of the Pizza Shop, Mirsada, she is crazy too!

Stuck in J-Town

Hello all, long time no blog. I have been reall busy this week. If this helps explain it, my paycheck at the Vee should be close to 400 and my check in Waukee should be close to 500. I think it equates to about 65 hours total this week. Leaving work was sort of strange. At the Vee, Shannon, one of the women I work with, sent me balloons and a really sweet card, and at the course we orderd pizza and blah blah. It's been interesting. It was strange to look at the schedule for next week and not see my name. I have poured so much of my life into the Vee and a lot of my summer into the course that it is strange that I am leaving them. I made a lot of friends at HyVee and it is strange to think I am not going to see them for a few months.

What I found, is that it was easier a lot of times to talk to the guys at the Vee than it was to talk to my friends. I decided it was because the guys at the Vee don't know me all that well, besides what I have told them. Then don't know my past, they don't know my friends, and they don't judge me. It was so nice to be able to talk to someone about anything. I was pretty close to some of them just because we spent so much time together with nothing to keep us entertained besides ourselves.

With that said, I have less than a week now before I leave. I am SO EXCITED! I got out the loft today, sorry Dana but all the shalacked Disney pictures are now gone and the remains are covered with primer. That SUCKED! And tomorrow I get to paint the loft and clean my car. Oh good times. Earlier this week I went out with Alicia. We saw 40 Year Old Virgin, funny movie. Mostly stupid humor but still pretty good. And we got in free because Alicia knew the kid working so it was even better. We got coffee afterwards and talked for awhile, it was fun. Friday I hung out with Josh. We went to the park by my house and hung out then we drove around and went to a park by his house for awhile. We had a good talk and the night was pretty good. I forgot to mention that last Sunday Josh and I went to the Hoobastank concert. What and AWESOME concert. I loved it. The Donnas played before Hoobastank and they kicked ass. Very good music to listen to when you are pissed off. Ahh...I heart Hoobastank!

Last night I went down to Drake to hang out with Butter. We were talking by some man made scenery there and this guy walked over and introduced himself and talked to us for awhile. Then the rest of the guys he was with came over and we all sat there and talked. It was pretty cool. I am supposed to meetthis guy she is sort of interested in but he wasn't there last night. I think I am going to go back later this week to see her before I leave. Hopefully he will be there so I can finally meet this guy she has been telling me so much about! Ahh!

Butter and I at our last Girls night out!

Well, I think that this is it for now. Nothing too interesting going on. Why, because I am still stuck in J-Town while the rest of the world is at college. But, I have lots to do to keep me busy this week so, I'll be writing when I'll be writing....may the force be with you.

My Baby!

Just writing to let you all know that I got my baby the other night. My laptop that is. AND I LOVE IT! Yes, Tony, I love my HP so bite me! Oh, and I am currently at Panera because they have free wireless and the signal I picked up at home was too weak to do anything on. See you all later!

Who cares about St. Louis?

Hello all, the week has been fairly eventful. Last Saturday I went out to Lauren's lake house when I got off work. Ashley and I rode up together. It was fine. Lauren had a big group of people out and it was pretty fun. We all just laid around in the lake on tubes and floaties. We went tubing a few times. That was sweet. The first time I went out with Becca. She was hilarious! Her little body just kept flopping and she would land on me every once in awhile. The second time I went with Liz. That was a little more interesting. Lauren's tube has like 10 handles and for some reason Liz wasn't content with the handles on her side so she kept moving and always seemed to want the handle I was already using. URGH! But it was fun.

Sunday morning mom, Sarah and I left for St. Louis. We drove almost all the way through just stopping for gas. As we were getting into the city, you know, like 45 miles out but mom insisted we were in the city, she told us to look for the arch. As we came around the corner we saw the arch and out of the blue Sarah shouts, "JESUS!" My mom thought it was because she was in awe of the arch or it just shocked her that much. The reality was that she was reading a billboard. It was funnier to those of us in the car than you the readers. One of those 'had to be there' moments that I had to write about because it was funny to us.

Mom and Sarah, she, Sarah, ruined every picture she was in by making some sort of face. Leave it to Sarah to cause a ruckous!

Upon ariving at the hotel, we noticed that quite a few people were double fisting beers or carrying around cases and coolers. We also noticed that everyone was wearing either St. Louis apparel or Cubs apparel. Put two and two together and the baseball retards that are the three of us figured out that the Cubs must be playing the Cards in St. Louis that night. Come later to find out that everything, I mean EVERYTHING is closed on Sunday in St. Louis. We never would have guessed this being as it is a large city but whatever. We saw the arch, which was cool, but I wish I would have been able to see a cross-section of the arch to see the tracks that the little cars are on that pull you to the top. Once at the top, you are crammed into this tiny space with about a million other people, who smell, and little kids who scream and run all over. But the view was pretty cool. Sunday night we ate appetizers and had AWESOME smoothies in the bar at the hotel.

Monday morning we woke up and drove to the park that the zoo and art museum were located in. After driving around for 20 minutes we finally get to the zoo where there was free admission yet you had to pay $9.00 to park. I guess we know why the zoo is free. The zoo was pretty cool with the exception of the 100 degree weather at 10:00. After the zoo we headed to the art museum only to find out that it was closed on Mondays so we headed back to the hotel to lounge by the pool. The pool was decent, on the roof so we were closer to the sun, but it was cool because the arch was in our back yard. The only bad part of getting to the pool was taking the elevator that had glass open to the outdoors all the way up to the 30th floor! Scary!

These are Somalian Asses. Yes, and Ass from Somalia.

Scratch that, the above picture is of a generic Zebra, nothing too exciting there. But yes, this was an actual sign at the zoo.

So because we couldn't go to the art museum on Monday we went on Tuesday and then to Union Station. The art museum was an art museum and nothing like El Prado. And Union Station, way unimpressed! It would have been fun if a) I was a Cards fan, b) I was 12, or c), hungry. Other than that, nothing. Did go to the Cards Clubhouse store and bought an offical St. Louis Cards hat. Red had with blue 'StL.' There is a better story about the hat that I shall tell when I am done with vacay, I believe that is a technical term. We went to Laclede's Landing one night and had an awesome dinner at Hannigans. It was like an applebees but nicer and a better atmosphere. And the waiter, survey says...do-able. Or at least in my case, he was worth 5 stars. We left St. Louie on Wednesday morning and as we drove home we hit the outlet malls. We all bought some new clothes and such. It was a good time. Over all, Vacation was great. It was nice to not have a structured day and to be able to lay around by the pool or in the room and not worry about ANYTHING!

The girls before our night out at Laclede's Landing. Did I mention our driver, James. He was cool.

Moving on, so I have decided to become a Cards afficionado. Thus far, I have been hit on twice while wearing my hat at work. And multiple people have asked me about it. And you know me, being baseball retarded, I just tell them I know jack about baseball when asked. On Friday night it actually did me some good. This kid was at the course with a few of his friends and I noticed him upon driving up to the clubhouse on my cart. I smiled and then noticed that hid friends went inside and he sort of hung outside. I wasn't paying attention and I hear someone say, "we played today right?" I was thinking, "is he talking to me....?" Then I realized he was refering to my hat. So then I had to explain to him that I just bought the hat because I went to St. Louis. We talked for a few minutes and I learned that he played baseball for Roosevelt and graduated last year. His name was Tyler. I felt pretty good by the time I left and had talked to him a few more times. Unfortunately, nothing came out of it. But it was a good story. All the guys in the clubhouse that night gave me so much crap, but it was fun.

I have been writing this post for awhile, so I am just going to keep writing about what has been going on. My friend Alicia had to go up to Rochester last week to have open heart surgery. She has had problems with her heart since she was born, I'm not really sure what but something. They replaced the valve when she was 9 and then again when she was 14 because she kept growing. And now that she is 19, they went back in and replaced it again with an adult valve. Sunday night we all got together and watched movies and had a salt fest because she can't eat high concentrations of salt for awhile now. It was pretty awkward at times but otherwise a good time.

This week nothing too interesting went on. I worked, A LOT!, and yesterday I had my physical to go to school. They shot me three times with needles. My finger prick for typical blood work, my PPD to test for TB, and my Menengitis shot. That one still hurts today. As for the others, I'm pretty sure the TB test will be negative, and they wont find anything too interesting in my blood work. Oh, and I must have slept with a spider because I have bites all over my legs. Kind of creepy but I guess it happens. I analpramed my legs last night before I went to bed, but I still itch. Oh, and today I bought my laptop. No Tony, I didn't get an Apple. Instead I got the HP dv4710us. It has a Centrino processor, 100GB hard drive, some odd amount of memory, CD/DVD player and burner, 4 USB ports, and all kinds of other stuff. It was decently expensive but the guy who helped me told me it was a good computer for a good price. So, now I just have to wait for it to come in.

Well, I think this is long enough. I hope my settings stay the same from the draft to the actual post. I have been having problems with that recently. So, that's all for now....
